Exams are invading me..

I am so sorry! It's been such a long time since I haven't posted a new post! Anyway, I'm here, in my home country, Malaysia. So, as you can see... I'm invaded by exams! Somebody,  please help me!
The exams aren't gonna finish invading me until the end of the week. No, no, no!

I have finished about 10 subjects and there are about 15 more to go! Last week, we had our yearly sport event at our school. I'm in the yellow house, and I represented my house for.. long jump, high jump, 100m running race, and the 4 x 100m race. I was supposed to also be in the 4 x 200m race, but I didn't because of some reasons.

I really miss New Zealand.. and will never forget that beautiful country. I wonder what my friends are doing right now over there? I wish I could run away to New Zealand to avoid being attacked by the exams.

Anyway, it's time for me to continue studying because tomorrow, we're facing the Science exam.

Till the next post.

Bye, New Zealand..

I am so sorry! I haven't updated this blog for a long time. I'm really sad because I'm leaving New Zealand next week! No, no, no, no, NO! I do not want to leave! I had my last day of school last Friday because I had a lot to pack and lots and lots and lots of things to memorize for an exam in Malaysia. I will never forget all of the delicate memories I had in New Zealand. But, I do miss my friends and cousins back in Malaysia. It was nice getting to live in a country full of great neighbors and friendly residents. Now, it's time to leave, and I'm leaving this week!

3 Days off School..

Hi there,

I'm so sorry, I haven't updated this blog for a long time! I took 3 days off school to take care of my little brother and my grandma who are both sick! My condition isn't as critical as them but I have been sneezing a lot. I've done my speech in front of my class and it had to be 3 minutes. Guess what.. my speech was only 2 minutes and 20 seconds! Now, I have to do it again in front of my teacher because all of us get a second chance if we didn't do it up to 3 minutes or if it's too long. My class already performed our dance performance in assembly and I was so scared and nervous at that time. My class was the last to perform out of four classes and when we saw the first class to perform, we were sure we would lose! The first class was amazing! They looked very enthusiastic and they had a lot of energy. The second class was 'okay', not as good as the first class. The third class was actually really good, so it was hard to tell or guess which class would win. My class came on after the third class and we looked really bad. Well, that's what I thought.

Busy, busy, busy!

Cantamath, Speeches, Homework, Dance Performance...

I've just been thinking about this busy term! The speeches are coming up and cantamath is also soon! Another thing is that I have to do a dance performance with my class and we have to do it in assembly ( More than 300 people). We're also doing a 'Journeys' project that will take some time. Not just that, it's the Olympics! Which country do you support? I have just remembered about it because this term, I have to research about the Olympics! Anyway, have a nice day.

Homework

Today, there wasn't a lot to do..it was still the school holidays. There was no homework and nothing to do. At Malaysia, I get lots of homework. The longer the holiday is, there more amount of homework to do. It feels like you have no time to do anything! We also have loads of tests and exams. So, the thing is that in New Zealand, you feel bored because there's not much homework and in Malaysia, you feel like you have no time to do anything else because of the amount of homework you get..

Science Fair

My heart was beating faster than usual. I couldn't believe this was actually happening! Me and my friend looked at each other, we were shocked. Our teacher told us that for the next 9 weeks, everyone at school had to work on their own science fair project. Oh, no! I didn't know what to say - my mind went blank. Suddenly, questions came zooming into my mind, "How do you make a science fair project? Where do we buy the cardboard for the science board? What happens if our project fails?". These questions were stuck in my mind. Then, my teacher told our class all about the science fair and she answered all of my questions. I began to feel calm after my questions were answered. You must be wondering what my project is, but it's a secret. I've finished making my aim and hypothesis and I've been working on my log book. I hope everything turns out well...

Here's something funny...

What happened on Mothers Day...

 Mothers Day

Well, today is Mothers Day. You know how I said that I was going to make breakfast in bed for my mum, it didn't turn out that good. Today, I had to wake up earlier than my mum. I went to the kitchen and started to think of what to make for my lovely mum. I thought of making a sandwich for my mum. While I was busy preparing the surprise, I heard the door open. Uh oh! It was my mum and my cheeky little brother! I quickly asked her to go to the living room and wait there. When the sandwich was ready, I took it to my mum in the living room. Well, at that time, it wasn't breakfast in bed anymore. I was sad it didn't turn out very well but I had another surprise for her! I had made a power point for her! In the power point, there was a poem about her. There was also a quiz at the end to see if she focused on the power point I made her! She was amazed and she really liked it! When I saw the smile on her face, I wasn't so sad anymore, today is a day I will never forget!

Mothers Day

Bad news- I forgot about mothers day! It's on the 13th of May and it's soon!

Then I started to think of Mothers Day gift ideas...

Well, maybe flowers! My mum loves them!

Or maybe perfume

Or a warm robe!
Maybe a handmade card?
I thought those were really great ideas, but, I wanted something else, and then I thought...

Maybe breakfast in bed! I made my mind-this is going to be my gift for mum...

The real Cross Country!

Today was the big day I've been preparing for these past few days! I was very nervous because today was the Cross Country! My goal was to get in the top 40 of the Year 7 girls. There were three categories, Year 8 Girls, Year 8 Boys, Year 7 Girls, and Year 7 Boys. In my class, I was the third fastest but in all of the year 7 girls, I came 30th out of the 180. I was happy with it because I did my best.

Languages

Hey guys. I really love languages. Do you?

I love my mother tongue, Malay. I love my second language, English.  I love my third language, Arabic. And I absolutely love French (I'm learning it at school)!!
The thing is, languages is the key to communication. So the more you grasp of it, the more successful you are at communicating. :)
Also it will come in handy if you're multilingual, and you're travelling around the world (That's on my bucket list.. Heheheh)

One of my friends know how to order food in almost every language. Wow, surely she will never get starved while travelling. I wish I could do that. I love eating. LOL, who doesn't?

Anyway,
That's it for now,
Enough of my blah-blahness.
Hehe.

With love, Anis XXXX

Cross country practice

Today, we continued our cross country practice after a day off school. My goal was to do seven laps and finally, I did it (Well, sort of)! I was close to the finish line for seven laps when the teacher called out the final countdown, "3, 2, 1!". I sprinted to get there, but I couldn't reach the finish line. I was so close! My teacher said that since I was very close to the finish line, she counted that lap. Well, at that time, I couldn't feel my knees. Before I sprinted, my knees were like jelly, but I sprinted because I really wanted my running team to win and also because I was so close to the finish line! I hope I do better at the real cross country!

Cross Country - Practice

Well, today, was the first day of term 2. Now, we had to wear our winter uniform. Today, I looked on the whiteboard to see what activities were planned for the day. First, we did the Roll and then, my class teacher told our class the notices for the day. After that, we did our spelling and word study activities. Time passed and the bell rung. Everyone quickly went to get their morning tea. Today for morning tea, I ate an apple and oat crunch. We quickly went to our math classes after the bell rung. In my maths class, we listened to a One Direction maths song. It was awkward, but, kinda interesting. After maths, we went back to our main class. The next thing we did was the cross country preparation. Our teacher told us about the track and rules. We also got told our running groups. I was in the lydiards group. In my group, there is one boy and four girls including me. The thing is that every day, before cross country, our syndicate has to practice for cross country. We have 20 minutes to run as many laps as possible. The team members in each group will get a point for every lap they run. Then, you add the total points in your team. After four days, we will count the total points collected by each team. The team with the most points in each class gets to have a prize! I really want my team to win! Today, I already ran 6 laps. The total for my team today is 24 points.
I'll have to try to get seven laps tomorrow...

Ouch!

Two days ago, I was in the kitchen with my grandma and little brother. Chop! Chop Chop! I was too busy to notice that it came up to my finger and made tears cover my face. I wasn't careful with the knife and accidentally made a cut on my finger. That's what happens if you're not being careful with the knife. I'm going to be careful from now on because I don't want to do that again.

I can't believe I'm actually here...

On the 16th of March, I came to New Zealand with my family and also with my grandma. It's been over a year since I last came been here. I thought I'd never come here again, but, here I am! I really like New Zealand for its beautiful views and I like how friendly the people are. But, I really miss Malaysia. I miss all of my friends, teachers, school, house and also my cousins in Malaysia. Well, it doesn't matter, I'll be going back to Malaysia soon. The good thing is that I get to see some of my old friends from when I was in Primary School. After Aorangi Primary got shut down by the government, I move to Isleworth Primary. Most of my friends from Aorangi moved to Burnside Primary so I felt kinda sad to be separated from my closest friends. Since we're already in Year 7, we now have to go to an Intermediate School. The biggest Intermediate School in our residing area is Cobham Intermediate School so when I came to Cobham, I finally got the chance to reunite with old Aorangi Primary friends. They've all grown taller and I couldn't recognize some of them. It was one of the happiest moments in my life!

Yesterday

Today, as usual, I went to school at about 7.15 a.m and arrived there at 7.20a.m. The first subject I learned was the Arabic language. After that, we learned music. We learned a new song that was called 'Nyalakan Tekad'
We had a competition to see whether the boys or the girls were better at singing it. In the end, the girls of our class won. At 10.35 a.m we had our lunch break. At 10.55, the bell rang and I quickly went back to class. At 12.10 p.m, we finally went back home. I quickly went upstairs to my bedroom to get ready to go to my afternoon school. The school bus finally came to pick me up at 2.08 p.m. I arrived at school at about 2.57 p.m after picking up more kids to go to school. I went back home from school at 5.35 p.m with a hungry tummy. Oh, what a busy day!

Today

Sunday

Today, I woke up at 6.20 a.m. with a yawn. I got out of the bed and went to the toilet to get ready to pray. After praying, I read a comic book about a science competition. I still enjoy reading that comic book even though I've read it many times. After reading, I ate breakfast with my mum, dad, younger brother and also my grandma. Yesterday, I came to my grandma's house after school and slept there. That's why we're having breakfast with her. My grandma said to my mum that she wanted to go to the city to buy some food. So, after eating, me and my family (including my grandma) went to buy some food. We came back to my grandma's home after buying some food. We had a rest for a while at my grandma's home before we went back home. At home, there was nothing to do. But, I suddenly remembered that I haven't finished my homework yet! I quickly went to my room and finished my homework. After that, me, my mum and also my younger brother went to the shops and bought two brand new yellow balls for my brother to play with and some balloons. I went back home and helped my mum cook. Ordinary kinda day, right?
